Should I ask my boyfriend to move out?

It seems like he wants to help himself out but can't get past some level of maturity. You have been a great help to him so far but I don't think you are going to be able to do anything for him further. It is sad because it seems like you gave it a good shot but it just didn't work out. Now you have to move on. You'll see, there are guys out there who will appreciate everything you do for them and will appreciate you in return. Let this guy go and go out there and better yourself!
