Looking for a movie, think it came out in the late 90s/ early 2000s about an old witch stealing a body?

I remember this movie from a while back, it was about a girl who didn't believe in magic and she lived with this older woman or maybe she was a care taker for her? I can't remember but it was an old house. The old woman kept playing little subtle tricks on the woman to slowly make her believe in magic til at the very end she did and tried to ward off the older woman but failed. In the end her body was stolen and she was stuck in the old woman's body. I did a google search and came up with an old movie from 1981 that this might be based off of called Alison's Birthday. Any help is greatly appreciated, this movie came up in conversation and now it's bugging me that I can't remember what it's called!
