Is it possible to break someones automatic car window?

Long story short our roommate is on the rampage after being called out for being a habitual liar and not paying rent. The day after an argument she had with myself and my fiance my automatic car window on the driver side suddenly jammed and got throw off the tracks. My fiance went to get some food and it was the first time since the argument that window has been used and now its broken. I'm suspicious simply because of the timing and the fact that its a 2008 car that has never shown any problems with the window what so ever. I have an appointment to get the window fixed on Monday but I have this feeling she did something. Could a coin or some other object inserted into the window housing cause this? My google-fu skills are not being very productive on this matter.
